Geotechnical drilling operators have often had a limited availability of drilling equipment designed and manufactured specifically for their needs. NorDrill designs drilling equipment customized and specified for Geotechnical drilling application.

GTD-125

NorDrill’s first Geotech Top Drive specifically designed to meet the geotechnical drilling operators’ requirements boasts a 6” (152.4mm) through bore from Gooseneck to end of shaft, enabling the Top Drive to operate both in API drilling mode and piggyback drilling mode. This is a major efficiency improvement, eliminating the need for rig downtime to rig up/rig down swivels when alternating between drill modes, while also allowing the application of a wider range of downhole/sampling tools.

  • 35.000 Nm (25.800 ft-lb) @ 100 RPM*.
  • 17.000 Nm (12.5000 ft-lb) @ 180 RPM*.
  • Compact design, allowing the Power Swivel to be installed or retrofitted into any rig structure.
  • Low service and maintenance requirements.
  • Remote Access System (RAS) reducing the need for on-site support.
  • Tiltable to 90°, for drill pipe pick up.
  • Can be fitted with Link Arms and Elevator, to eliminate the need for tilting.
  • Easy interchangeable washpipe.

CTD-250H

NorDrill’s first Top Drive specifically designed to meet the geotechnical drilling operators’ requirements boasts a 5” (127 mm) through bore from gooseneck to end of shaft. This is a major efficiency improvement, which allows the application of a wider range of downhole/sampling tools compared to industry standard, while maintaining high torque/speed capabilities.
